FC Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
